About Maruthi College of Education

Maruthi Educational Trust started Maruthi College of Education in the year 2007 with an intake of 100 students with the approval of NCTE, No. F.SRO/NCTE/B.Ed/2006-2007/8656, Dated: 24/10/2006 and Tamil Nadu government. Our college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University-Chennai.

Every year students who have passed UG degree with required percentage of marks are admitted. The college has been producing more than 95% result every year and more than 50% of them could get job opportunities in the private institutions and government schools. In the academic year 2013 - 2014 the college is accredited with " B " Grade by National Assessment and accreditation Council.

MARUTHI EDUCATIONAL TRUST extends a helping hand to the economically poor students by giving concessions in tuitions fees. For the talented students the trust awards scholarships and for the toppers gives cash awards which will be helpful for the higher studies.

On the whole the trust has committed to serve the rural people in the field of education. The people in villages in and around the college are pleased to admit their wards in various institutions run by Maruthi Educational Trust. The Maruthi educational institutions have a very good reputation.

Blood Donation Camp 2023

Blood donation camp was organized by Rotary Club of Attur, on 26.07.2023 at Maruthi college of Education.

The Chief Doctor, Rotary Club Members and Blood donation Camp in-charge doctor and his team were present and blood was donated by the staff members and Second Year Male students of Maruthi College of Education.

The Rotary Club Members appreciated the staff members and the B.Ed students, appreciation certificate were issued at the end of the camp.

 



















TEACHER'S DAY 2023

On 5th September 2023, Maruthi College of Education organized Teacher's Day Celebration. The function took place in the seminar hall of the college. The students of Maruthi College of Education organized a function for the teachers. The trainees students are expressed their gratitude towards the teachers given short speeches. All the teachers were enjoyed and appreciated the programme. Finally sweets were distributed and the event came to an end around 3.30 pm.

 



















Educational Tour 2023

Maruthi College of Education undertook an educational tour for the B.Ed students to Palani and Kodaikanal on 23.03.2023 and 24.03.2023. the tour was based on the theme "Discovering New Insights Through Practice". Keeping in mind the opportunities for the students to explore and experience practically what they have learned in the classroom.

Places of visited: Kodaikanal Lake, Pine Forest, Pillar Rock, Guna Cave, Garden, Fire Camp, Thirumoorthi Dam & Falls, Maasani Amman Temple, and Palani Murugan Temple

Seventh Convocation ceremony 2023

Maruthi College of Education conducted its Seventh Convocation ceremony on 05.03.2023 for B.Ed batch of 2015-2017, 2016-2018 and 2017-2019 at the college campus. The event presided over by Dr K.Mohan., Ph.D., Deputy Registrar, Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai-97, delivered the convocation address. Also present at the ceremony was Mr Jagadeesh Ramasamy, Chairman, Mr S.S.Prabhu, Secretary, Mr S.Rajavel, Treasurer and Dr P.S.Shanmugaboopathi, Principal, along with Assistant Professors and Students.

The ceremony closed with the National Anthem and all the Graduates went back in absolute glee.

Annual Day Celebration 2023

On 28th January 2023 our Maruthi Educational Trust organized its Annual Day programme that was held in the open air auditorium. The chief guest was Mr. Arul Prakasam, Tamil Motivational Speaker. Parents were also invited to attend the event. The faculty team of our college along with voluntary students decorated the auditorium with flowers and lights. The chief guest lit the lamp. The students from different departments participated and performed in variety of cultural events. A group of students were invited to come on stage to play a drama scene. The drama, they presented was funny and interesting. The entire pupil to attend that annual day and enjoyed it most. It was a memorable day.

Pongal Celebration 2023

Pongal is the harvest festival of Tamilnadu, celebrated on the first day of "Thai First". A festival to thank God for all his goodness and mercies and a look forward to a prosperous year. It usually falls on the 14th or 15th of January in the English calendar. The students arrived in traditional dhotis and sarees to mark the occasion. The celebration started around 10 am. The college gathered to celebrate Pongal with the supervision of the staff members of the college. Meanwhile there were other activities conducted like Rongoli and traditional dances. Sweet Pongal and Sugar Cane were distributed to all students. Everybody left home with memories as it was another joyous celebration.

New Year Celebration 2023

To mark the annual celebration of New-Year for the year 2023. A grand cultural programme was celebrated in our college premises under the guidance of our principal. Our college welcomed the arrival of the New-Year with great passion and enthusiasm. All the student teachers and the staffs of our college were united to celebrate with joy refreshment and entertainment. The programme was brought to an end by arranging a grant banquet in which a wide variety of sweets, and snacks were served.

One Day Orientation Programme

One Day Orientation Programme was conducted in our college at Seminar Hall on 25.11.2022. Chairman, Secretary, Principal, Assistant Professors, and B.Ed & M.Ed Students were participated.

Chief Guest: Dr. C.Udhayakumar, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., (Psychologist) Chairman - Edfocus International Abacus Academy, discussed the psychological factors of present young generation and how to become a good teacher.

B.Ed First Year Inaugural Function 2022

First Year Inaugural Function was conducted in our college at Seminar Hall on 07.10.2022. Chairman, Secretary, Principal, Assistant Professors, Non-Teaching Staff, Students and Parents were participated.

Our B.Ed Second Year Student Selvi G.Pooja lead the Inaugural function, and Selvi.T.Kaviyarasi welcomed the gathering, after that the Inaugural address delivered by The Principal, Dr.P.S.Shanmugaboopathi, followed by The Chairman and Secretary of Maruthi Educational Trust delivered the Presidential address. Last but not least Selvi G.Meena delivered vote of thanks.

On 31st of December 2021, our college celebrates New Year. To set a perfect example of secularism, we celebrate all the festivals in our college. The celebration had taken place in the college seminar hall. There were songs related with New Year. The poem had contained the message of love and unity and a wish for New Year. We all enjoyed the day very much.

Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner on 24.12.2021 at 3.00 p.m. The whole program was a story of 'The Birth of Jesus'. The trainees were enjoyed the beats of "Jingle Bells" and the cakes were distributed to all.

B.Ed., The inaugural function 2019-20

The inaugural function of the B.Ed., classes for the academic year 2019-2020 was held in Maruthi College of Education premises on 19.08.2019, Monday at 11.30 am. The principal of Maruthi College of Education Dr.P.S.Shanmugaboopathi, extended a warm welcome to all new comers. Mr R.Krishnan, The Administrative Officer, Maruthi Group of Institutions presided over the function. In his key note focused his attention appealing to all the students of Maruthi institutions to be prepared to take up challenges, be voluntarily involved in social work and come first in every phenomenon. He also requested the student teachers to be the role models for their every student. At the end Mr.K.Vadivel, Assistant Professor in English, Maruthi College of Education proposed the vote of thanks.

ALUMNI MEET 2019

Alumni meet of Maruthi College of Education was held on August 18, 2019 at Seminar Hall. Total 30 alumni members attended the meet. In response, few of the alumni shared their experience as well as interesting moments of campus life to the audience. A delicious lunch was served for all the alumni members at the end of alumni reunion

TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2018

It was an auspicious day for students, to celebrated Teachers' Day (5/9/2018) which marks the birth of the great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan. Teachers' day celebration began as the students presented gifts, as a token of respect, to their teachers. Cultural programmes were organized by the students, major attraction of which was a mime and drama led by our students. It concluded with a 'thank you note' delivered by a student representative, marking the importance of teachers.

DEPARTMENT FUNCTION

The meeting started with the welcome address by Selvi S.Sharmila, First Year Student. Dr.P.S.Shanmugaboopathi, Principal, presided over the function. During the inauguration, Mr I.Selvam, Chairman, Mr A.Govindaraj, Secretary and Mr P.R.Raja, Treasurer, highlighted the importance of this function. Students of our college actively participated in various competitions like Poetry, essay writing, mime, drama and elocution.The inaugural function ended with the vote of thanks by B.P.Arunkumar, First Year.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY-EYE CAMP PARTICIPATION

One day free Eye Screening and Check up camp was conducted by Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai & Lions Club, Attur, at Thuluva Vellalar Marriage Hall, Attur on December 3,2017. The medical team consisting expert doctors and ophthalmology trainees from the Hospital participated in the camp. Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai has already conducted many eye camp programmes, in order to get maximum benefit to the working area people through this camp. Dr.P.S.Shanmugaboopathi, presided, over the camp and Mrs. G.Kavitha, Assistant Professor, to assist the medical camp.

NATIONAL LEVEL WORKSHOP

A one day National Level Workshop on "Teaching with Technology - Creating Student - Centered Classrooms" was conducted on 31.03.2017. Nearly 150 trainees were participated and got the benefit. Dr.K.Biju, Assistant Professor, Central University of Tamilnadu, Dr.K.Thiyagu, Assistant Professor, from Central University of Kerala, were acted as resource persons.

Blood donation camp was organized by G.H. Attur, on 01.12.2015 at Maruthi college of Education.

The Chief Doctor and Blood donation Camp incharge doctor and his team were present and blood was donated by the staff, men and women students of Maruthi College of Education.

The doctors appreciated the staff team and the B.Ed students as well.

Fifth Graduation was arranged for the students studied during the academic year 2013 - 2014.

2014-2015 Educational Tour

Students and staff went on an Educational Tour on 20.03.2015 and 21.03.2015 and the team visited Thekkadi, Cochin, Guruvayur and other places. The students gained firsthand knowledge of the places and culture of the people.

 


























One Day State Level Workshop

A one day state level workshop on “WEBSITE ANALYSIS AND DIGITAL LESSONPLAN” was conducted on 07.02.2015. Nearly 275 candidates participated and got the benefit. Dr.B.Anboucarassy and Dr.K.Thiyagu , from Central University of Tamilnadu , Thiruvarur , were acted as resource persons.

 





















2014-2015 Citizenship Training Camp

Citizenship Training Camp was conducted from 22.12.2014 to 27.12.2014 (except 25.12.2014) at Aragalur Village. Cleaning of the campus of Siva temple, Buddha temple and Vishnu temple was taken up by the students. Scout Training and HIV awareness program were given in the camp.

2013 - 2014 Citizenship Training Camp

C.T Camp was conducted from 16.12.2013 to 20.12.2013 at Deviyakurichi village. Cleaning and tree planting work were taken up at Siva temple, Vishnu temple and Panchayat Union Primary School.

 














NAAC Accreditation Received

After various round of inspections and discussions with executive committee from NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), they recommended to provide GRADE B to our Institution.

Accreditation received from NAAC is valid till October 2018.

 

One Day State Level Seminar

A State level seminar was conducted on 10.11.2012 . Title given was "Teachers’ Accountability in the Profession". Dr.K.Anandan, M.A.,M.A., M.Ed.,M.Phil.,Ph.D, Professor and Head, Department of Education, Bharathidasan University, Trichy have the keynote address in the seminar.

One hundred and fifty students from various colleges of the state participated in the seminar. Fourteen personnel from various colleges and various categories presented paper on the title. The seminar was very effective and useful for the participants. A souvenir was published on that day about the seminar.

Maruthi College of Education has been Accredited for a period of five years with a CGPA of 2.68 on a four point scale at "B Grade" valid from 25.10.2013 by the Executive Committee of NAAC.
